About Dexter

What’s hard about being a student right now

A lot is due and a lot is unclear

Six courses. Each with its own rhythm, its own deadlines, its own way of keeping you on your toes. Keeping all of it in your head is a recipe for missed deadlines and the last minute panic, and when it happens often, your GPA takes a hit.

It’s in there somewhere

The rubric. The reading. The thing the professor said about what’s on the exam. It exists, and it’s technically available to you, buried three clicks deep in a course site. And then you realize it’s buried deep in a 30-page PDF. Finding it costs you the twenty minutes you were going to spend actually studying.

Help has office hours. Panic doesn’t.

Office hours could be Tuesday afternoon. The exam is Monday morning. You’re stuck at midnight on Sunday. Academic support at most schools is a lifeline, and real, but unfortunately unavailable at the exact moment you need it. It’s hard to scale academic support to everyone at all times.

Group work happens in a group chat

Four people, one deliverable, nowhere to actually work together. So the chat happens over personal phone numbers (not great) and in apps that weren’t made for academic projects.

What Dexter does about it

Dexter is one academic coach that knows your courses.

Keeps the whole term in front of you. Every assignment, exam and lecture across all your courses, in one place, sorted by what actually needs you next.

Explains the coursework. Ask it what you’re stuck on. It answers from your course material, not from a general guess about what a class like yours probably covers.

Finds anything you’ve been given. One search across everything in your courses.

Gives group work a place to live. Somewhere to work with your classmates that isn’t a chat thread you’ll be scrolling through at 2am.

Dexter is built to keep you out of trouble. It works from your curriculum, it will teach you what you need to know to do the assignment, but it won’t hand you the assignment. Because it wants to help you remain compliant with your school’s academic honesty rules.
