Dexter LLC is a founder-led education technology company based in Washington state that helps students succeed with the learning systems and course materials they already use. It is an early-stage company, and deliberately a focused one, which is what allows its attention to go to product quality, student experience and academic integrity.

Dexter was founded by Zaid Arafeh, a technology product leader with more than 20 years of industry experience, including senior product roles at Meta, TikTok, Google, and Microsoft. His work spans artificial intelligence and machine learning, large-scale consumer products, security, and responsible AI.

The company was built around a simple idea: students should be able to benefit from AI without stepping outside academic integrity, and without leaving behind the curriculum, expectations, and systems their university already runs on.

Today, Dexter connects to Canvas. It helps students make sense of their coursework, organize it across courses, find what they need, prepare for assessments, and work together more effectively. Support for other learning management systems is on the roadmap, so that we meet institutions and students where they are.
